The Movement That Started The Conversation
🦋 In Memory Of Morgan Rodgers — Duke University Women's Lacrosse
Morgan's Message
Morgan Rodgers was a Duke University Women's Lacrosse player who lost her battle with mental health in 2019. Her family created Morgan's Message, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit now operating across 1,717 campuses in 46 states — with a mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding student athlete mental health and equalize the treatment of mental and physical health in athletics.
Morgan's Message opens the conversation. The EAPS system provides the tools. Every program needs both.
"As an athlete there is no shame in seeking physical healthcare — the same should be true for mental healthcare. In order to close the gap we must eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health together." — Morgan's Message Mission

Why Coach O Is Different
🏆 The First In The World
Hand-Selected By
Drew Brees's Coach
Todd Durkin is the world-renowned strength and conditioning coach who trained NFL legend Drew Brees throughout his Hall of Fame career. Todd, along with a select group of professionals in the sports and fitness industry, created the GYMR Mindset Coaching Certification framework in partnership with academic researchers.
When it was time to introduce GYMR to the world Todd Durkin contacted Coach Omar Stinney, told him he thought he would be the perfect candidate, and invited him to be in the room to hear everything the framework consisted of.
The moment Coach O heard it all and he said YES immediately.
Coach Omar Stinney Became The First Person In The World Officially Certified As A GYMR Mindset Coach

The Tools Work Off The Field Too
🏆 Real Moment · Seneca High School Athlete · New Jersey
A Math Test. A Marking Period. A System That Worked.
"My pressurized moment this week was yesterday when I had a math test and it was the last grade of the marking period. Depending on how I did I would have gotten a C or a B. I aced the test. I had straight B's in all my classes for the marking period."
Coach O asked: What did you do to ease the pressure?
"I just took a couple deep breaths, started thinking about the things I learned in class the past couple days about the test and it was actually easy when I did that."
Why This Matters For Your Program
This athlete used the Performance Triangle — Breath Focus Self-Talk, from Week 2 of the EAPS playbook. Not on the court. In a classroom. Under real academic pressure. The mental tools Coach O teaches do not stay in the gym. They transfer into every area of an athlete's life. Including grades. Including behavior. Including leadership.
What Athletes Say After The Program
Real Athlete Results
"I was weak and not confident. I realized you were by my side through every battle. I got stronger, lost weight and my confidence blew out the roof."
— MED TECH Athlete · New Jersey
"After the very first session my mindset overly changed to just go and get it done no matter what. It's all about mind control and how you talk to yourself."
— MED TECH Athlete · New Jersey
"I was struggling with my work consistency. I am able to jump higher, my body feels more in shape, and I was shown I could do what I put my mind to. He is a great coach. He really knows his stuff."

How To Fund This System
Federal Funding Available Now
The SAMHSA Grant Pathway
SAMHSA — the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, is a federal agency under the US Department of Health and Human Services. Their Children's Mental Health Initiative provides federal grant funding specifically to improve mental health outcomes for children and youth birth through age 21. Proposed budgets range from $1,000,000 to $3,000,000 per award. There is no budget excuse.
01
Contact your state's SAMHSA block grant administrator. Every state has one. They distribute federal mental health funds to local programs.
02
Position the EAPS system as a preventive mental health intervention for youth athletes. The research in this episode supports exactly this framing.
03
Submit a program proposal showing how EAPS addresses the documented mental health needs of your student athlete population.
04
Use the EAPS assessment data — zone scores across 5 domains — as the baseline measurement that grant applications require.
05
Contact Coach O directly to discuss how to frame the EAPS system for your specific grant application.
